INTRO JAZZ BISTRO & CAFE

Alright, it's time to get into a little adventure! Since I was a bit tired of Jakarta's traffic madness, this invitation is a good change: BSD. The suburban areas in Banten is developing rapidly and this is one of the proof! Intro Jazz Bistro & Cafe is located near the Breeze Mall, at BSD Area. Not exactly located within the mall though, it stands alone between McDonald's and Lembur Kuring.

Upon my first time looking around the bistro, they have an interesting bar concept: Young and vibrant: they have playful writings and doodles on the blackboard with lots of windows! Doesn't look like a regular bar which is usually enclosed at the corner of the room, this one looks more fun.

Did you know that they have their very own brand of coffee blend??

See what I'm talking about "fun"? Since they hold the concept of a jazz bar, you can see that their design is somewhat dynamic with a great blend of modern and classic elements.

Classic leather couch with modern paintings and ornaments! Looks lovely, don't you think?

Loving their wooden partition, when you look at the place from this side, they hold a really good vibe!

Usually, people came here for events; gathering or seminar or others, not many to none came to dine in, even the owner acknowledges that.

For someone who has a love for food, getting a peek of their kitchen and food preparation is a luxury. Can you imagine the sweet aroma that'll spread from it while waiting for your foods PLUS accompanied by some beautiful jazz musics in the background?

And of course, a performing stage! The name IS 'Intro Jazz', so this one's essential, don't you think? Every weekend you can watch a jazz performance right on this stage!

CAFE LATTE IDR 30K

Literally means milk coffee and really is just 50% espresso 50% milk with a little bit of foam for the "latte art", which is ever so popular right now! Don't worry, I'm also one of those people who walks up to a barista and say "can you make a cool latte art for me?" By the way, news flash; some barista doesn't really like it when we call cafe latte with just 'latte', which in Italian means milk, and would earn you exactly that, milk, if you're in Italy though.

HOT CHOCOLATE IDR 45K

Who doesn't like a good hot cocoa? For hot chocolates, sometimes they add chocolate sauce for richer taste, which I don't really mind although still would prefer pure cocoa, and guess this one uses chocolate sauce since it is shown from the latte art made by it.

CAPPUCCINO IDR 30K

The only difference between a cafe latte and cappuccino is that cappuccino uses less milk with more foam. Smaller cups are also usually used for this, with less milk hence the stronger taste and stronger caffeine. A good and simple wake up call.

SPICY CHICKEN WINGS IDR 35K

Tender wings with yummy BBQ sauce, just look at those glazed goodness! Well, even though I did say 'wings', I can tell that you didn't see any wings in the plate, just drumsticks but that's good news for me! Hey, drumsticks are way easier to eat and with more meat than wings! Fyi, 'spicy' wings, ain't so 'spicy' at all, another plus? Or not?

ONION RING IDR 30K

Deep-fried onion served with sweet mayo sauce

Meh, not my most favorite dish but okay: deep fried flour battered onions, that's it, as simple as that. Highly needed mayo for taste, well what taste did you expect from deep fried onions? Good news is, that it ain't so unhealthy with loads of oil all around the plate and they're even generous enough to save us some lettuce. Less guilty is never bad!

KAMPOENG FRIED RICE IDR 35K

Traditional fried rice served with vegetables, shredded chicken, meat ball and crackers

Here's a traditional classic dish: just as the name suggests, it takes you back to the origin of your hometown, where this simple sweet and spicy fried rice with seafood, meat balls, chicken and signature sunny side up was from, don't forget the typical fish crackers on the side. A perfect fried rice has to use rice that are not too soft, yesterday's rice is just right for the job, not that this one uses yesterday's rice but they have achieved that perfect consistency.

INTRO BURGER IDR 75k

What a patty! Did you see how thick it is? Packed with caramelized onion, gherkin, cheese, and the usual tomato and lettuce with a super soft buns for additional perfection, this fillet mignon is out-of-this-world juicy! Also served with fries that aren't really crispy but rich and salty, very yummy. Pretty awesome job for a signature burger!

BEEF RIBS IDR 85K

Bbq ribs served with mix salad

For a bit burnt ribs with little meat, this really isn't that bad. Just by looking at that beautiful glaze, you can already taste the sweet flavor. This place is really good at their glazing, that's for sure. Put some salad on the side and done! A perfect plate of ribs, well, perfect for a restaurant in BSD unlike Jakarta that has been growing WIDELY on their food section.

FAT MAN BURGER IDR 125K

If you could finish this, then you're a fat man! Just kidding, this is share-able for 4-5 people. The patty wasn't as perfect and juicy as the normal burger though, which is understandable. Cooking this size of a patty must've been REALLY hard to get that perfect juicy tender meat. What surprises me is the fact that even though this size made it hard for them to get a good meat, they still managed to get an AMAZING bun! It's even better than the normal sized ones! Dare to try a fat man burger alone?

PEACH MOJITO IDR 35K

Bad choice of a drink for me, way too sweet and smells like a car perfume. Did not like the typical virgin mojito, did also not like this peach one. I guess I just can't roll with 'mojito's.

KIWI LIME COOLER IDR 35K

Now, THIS one is perfect! Loved it, love everything about it. The kiwi is sweet and fresh mixed with the sourness of the lime, just simply wonderful. Certainly became my favorite drink in an instant! It's good and healthy, who can say no to that?

STRAWBERRY PUNCH IDR 35K

A second favorite, but not because it's amazing or anything, just that the taste is okay but very standard. It's a strawberry punch, nothing more nothing less, still very refreshing. Guess it's not that hard to love a strawberry?

VIRGIN MOJITO IDR 35K

Nu uh! Nope! Not gonna comment much on this. I said what I said, so I'm just gonna say that this is your typical everyday mojito. If you like virgin mojito, then don't hesitate to order one cause I bet you'll like it, but not for me.

DRAGON FRUIT IDR 45K
Some people say that the color of this fruit is scary, like you just dropped a slice of it on a bucket of water paint, though it's actually healthy. Just look at the picture, see how scary the color is? Tastes good actually, especially with the help of the vanilla ice cream. The other 4 drinks are mocktails, but this one's a smoothie, which confuse me of why they still decorated the glass that way, maybe cause it's a signature thing? Whatever it is, it's kinda getting on my nerves. Pretty, I admit, but too much of it is too much.
